The Rotarian Cavaliers were fortunate enough to have Craig Storey give us a talk on what Cirrus research of Hunmanby do. We were very impressed to see a local company deliver and produce noise measurement meters to use both in Industry and domestically, thereby   assisting companies to adhere and meet legislation regarding noise Levels.

The implications of not adhering  are that the work force could actually sue if they develop hearing loss attributed to unsafe work place noise. In addition to this, recruitment and retention of staff could be an issue if management disregard the health of staff.
Noise pollution can become an unbearable nuisance and an irreversible loss of hearing can result, again causing another raft of problems for individuals
The use of noise meters can also be used domestically to ascertain unsafe noise pollution and to use the findings to deal with the noise nuisance.
Health risks associated  with excessive noise levels can include interruption of speech and social interaction, disturbed concentration ,Insomnia, hormonal and cardiovascular issues stress causing mental  health issues.
We were most impressed to see a local company also competing with international companies and providing excellent products  and services to clients whilst also flying the British/ Yorkshire flag.
The Rotarians were far better informed following this most interesting talk, and we gave Craig our appreciation in the normal way.
