Our gift to Ukraine

26 Dec 2022: Ultrasound kit donated to Ukraine

In recent weeks and months our club members have been especially busy in many ways finding ways to help the citizens fo Ukraine. This has included fund raising, generous donation of numerous and much essential items from our local community and also the purchase of much needed equipment.

Our club has been working with the Rotary Club of Cherkasy (in Ukraine) to help those in need. In early December a shipment of items was sent to Cherkasy (second picture).

The main picture shows the receiving of a mobile ultrasound unit at a Ukrainian hospital by Dr Zadorozhni, (Hospital Director), Nina of Cherkasy Rotary Club and Rayisa an Ultrasound specialist.

The Director has phoned up about three times to say thank you. Rayisa is delighted that the unit is small and portable as it will make life easier for so many people.

Special thanks go to club member Brendon and his wife Natasha for initiating contacts with Cherkasy Rotary Club and making this possible.
