Greg Layzell will give a talk about his life
Greg Layzell - Rotary introducing spoke about his introduction to the building trade due to his father and uncle being builders and how this came to be the retail business it is today. Greg also works on the funeral side of the business with his brother Paul.
Greg served in the Royal Navy for 7 years and was on a number of ships, he worked as a radar operator which he thoroughly enjoyed.
He spoke of his time at Ottery Football Club with the inception of a girls team. He did many fundraising events for the club.
He joined Rotary in 2010, was President in 2016, and told of his trip to Italy on Vesper motorbikes with fellow rotarian Paul, this was to raise money for Headway. A lot of beer was consumed enroute along with making many Rotary connections.
Greg has been our lead member on the Rotary Lend with Care scheme for many years and through this a lot of people in poorer countries have gained financial independence and created jobs in their community.”
