Arnside Stitch in Time

Making menstruation bags for girls in Ethiopia.

Sewing at Arnside

Yesterday, President Heather and Cliff visited Arnside Stitch in Time to present them with a cheque to cover the cost of making 25 Days for Girls Menstruation Bags. These bags are going to a Charity ‘Together We Learn’ based in the Oromia Area of Ethiopia.

‘Stitch in Time’ is temporarily based at Arnside Educational Institute whilst their Church Hall is being refurbished. We were warmly greeted by Anne and Sue who lead the group.

The hall was a hive of activity and colour with overlockers whirring, material being carefully cut out, brightly coloured ribbons being threaded through the finished kitbags, knickers sized and rolled and squares being knitted for blankets.
