Primary Schools Quiz

Details of the local and area finals of this quiz.


2023

The Primary Schools Quiz was held at Cults Primary School on the 21st March.   It comprised teams of four pupils from each of Airyhall, Milltimber, Kingswells, Peterculter and Cults Primary Schools. There were 10 rounds with 6 questions per round.   After a closely fought contest,  Cults Primary was the winning team, with Culter as runner-up.

This year RAD organised and hosted the Primary School Quiz Area final. The event was held on the morning of Saturday 29th April at Cults Academy Main Assembly hall . Twelve schools from Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire attended the quiz hoping to go through to the Rotary District final to be held at the Beach Ballroom Aberdeen on Saturday 17th June at 2pm. All twelve schools had won their local heats to progress to the Area final. The schools had a team made up of four P7 pupils plus one reserve team member . The Area final quiz was made up of ten themed rounds, Alphabet Quiz,  Mathematics, Picture Round,  The Written Word,  Geography,  Technology,  Science, Sport,   Music,  Pot Luck,  of 6 questions per round.

The top two winning teams were Cults Primary coming in 1st position with an incredible score of 115 points out of 120 and  Arduthie Primary school of  Stonehaven in second place with a score of 110 points; both schools winning through to the District final where they will compete to win prizes of £500, £300 and £200 for their schools for coming 1st ,2nd or 3rd  place.
