Past-President John Parker was delighted to present cheques from money raised during his presidential year to the representatives of three very worthy charities - Carol from Cancer Research UK, Kate from St Catherine's Hospice and Marjorie from Talkin' Tables - at a special event to recognise the valuable work done by these charities and their many volunteers from the local community.
Leyland Rotary was also delighted to learn from their founder, Marjorie, that Talkin' Tables had recently been selected to receive the Radio Lancashire 'Making a Difference' Award.
Current President Jim was also pleased to welcome friends and fellow Rotarians from Preston South - President Joan, Carol and Irene.
