The Rotary Club of Rochdale East has further extended its support to St. Andrews C of E primary and nursery school in the form of additional funding to extend the current breakfast program; enhance the schools sensory project and encourage the children to participate in this years October crocus planting effort in support of Rotary Foundations main charity - eradicating Polio from the world stage. Current work is underway.
The preparatory work on the raised vegetable beds, one poly greenhouse, herb, sensory and Spring Flower planters has been completed.
Some adjustments have been made to capture more rainwater in the upper meadow water butt.
Winter potatoes, red cabbage, herbs and winter pansies have been planted for the return to school early September.
Apples were ready to be picked in the lower meadow orchard when the children returned early September. In addition, winter cabbage plants were planted to add to the growing selection of veggies, potatoes and herbs.
