Technology Tournament 2023

The Tournament provides an opportunity for students interested in Engineering and Science to use team-building skills to solve a design a technology task.

2022 Task

This year's Technology Tournament took place on the 9th March 2023 at Ashlyns School.  The event is run joinly with our Berkhamsted Club.

Secondary Schools in Dacorum are invited to enter teams of four students who must design and build a model from a kit provided.  The model this year was a remotely-operated vehicle to lift and remove a hazardous container from a crashed flatbed railway wagon.

The teams complete in three age groups - Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced.  This year, 31 teams from 9 schools took part in the main hall at Ashlyns School, Berkhamsted, more than ever before 

The schools involved were The Adeyfield Academy, Ashlyns School, Berkhamsted School, The Hemel Hempstead School, John F Kennedy Catholic School, Kings Langley School, Longdean School, Westbrook Hay School and Tring School.

Winners this year were Berkhamsted School at Foundation level and Tring School for both Intermediate and Advanced.  The special Team Prize, for the team who work best together, are competitive, have clear goals and objectives and show outstanding co-ordination and management skills, went to the Advanced team from Longdean School.

The winning team in each age group receives a shield, and each team member a £30.00 voucher.
