Talented young speakers go head to head for victory at Rotary Youth Speaks - A debate competition.



Budding speakers as young as 11 will display their talents to an interested audience and judging panel in the second round of Rotary Youth Speaks - A debate competition hosted by Brit Valley Rotary Club and held at Beaminster school.

After an entertaining evening of debate, the winning teams will emerge victorious in both the senior and intermediate categories. The competition aims to provide young people with the experience of researching and speaking on a public platform as a member of a team about a topic or issue they care about as well as the the opportunity to learn and practice high standards of expression, presentation, and appearance.

The schools competing are; The Sir John Colfox Academy and Beaminster School. This year’s event will be hosted at Beaminster School on 21st February, beginning at 6.30 pm.

Young people are so passionate about the issues and topics they most cater to and this will shine through with their presentations.

The winning teams will go on to the next stage on the road to the National Final. That being The district Final to be held on 02nd March
