In Rotary it is not just all about raising money for charity although that is central to what we do but we also like to get our hands dirty and help out in a practical way. It could be litter picking, planting crocuses for polio, or taking disadvantaged kids for a day out.
We really do get our hands dirty and recently we have spent a weekend helping Earthworks. A charity that helps the disadvantaged learn and experience working on the land and carrying out gardening tasks.
We are not quite sure that the dog approved of what we were doing but it was a fun day and we could see what we had achieved at the Earthworks centre.
