Charity Golf Tournament at Ilkley Golf Club

Wed, Jun 18th 2025 at 9:00 am - 8:00 pm

We held our 33rd annual golf tournament at Ilkley Golf Club. Funds raised to date now stand at £200,000 which over the years has benefitted many local charities.

Bradford Blaize Charity Golf Day

Once again, we were lucky with the weather - dry and hot but with occaisional gusty wind. Despite this the scores were average for recent tournaments. As in previous years the format was Teams of four players. The competition was played in the Stableford format off a full valid club handicap adjusted for Slope. The two best scores per hole counted on the first nine holes, the three best scores on the next six holes and all four scores on the last three holes.

Other than the outright winner the top scores were all bunched together in the mid 90's up to 101. In order to separate second place from third a count of the scores on the back 9 was undertaken and the ensuing result was: -

Place Team Score
1      Zenith International 106
2      J M Glendinning Insurance Brokers         101 and 59 on the back 9
3      Alan Arthur's All Stars   101 and 57 on the back 9
Nearest the Pin   Nick Drake of Adam & Co.   2.6 Metres from the pin
Straightest Drive     David Ramsbottom of Villa Dental     On the 18th

Raffle prizes went to David Duke, Anthony Hoyland, Mark Wilson, Richard Merrlls, Peter Olney and Ian Crawford.
