Criteria and form for applying for a grant


Thank you for applying for a Rotary grant. Please see below the criteria for applying; if your charity fulfils the criteria, please fill out an application form and submit. There are two optoins:

1. Fill out an Online Form, OR

2. Download a PDF Form and submit via email to watfordrotary@btinternet.com                               

Applications must be in by November 1st 2024, successful applicants will be notified by the beginning of December. Your application will go before the club council for consideration and we may wish to contact you for any further information. You should hear back from us within 4 weeks of us receiving your application.

Please note, in the case of your application being successful, you will not be able to re-apply for a grant for 2 years.

Terms for applying for a grant

To apply for a grant, the following criteria should be met;

  • Charities must be registered with the charities commission. 
  • Priority will be given to charities specialising in the following 3 areas, mental health, environment and supporting the local community with an emphasis on youth.
  • Priority will also be given to charities that do not have, or have very few paid employees.
  • Whilst it is understandable that charities need funds to support their daily activities, preference will be given to a specific project where the results can be measured.
  • Successful charities will not be able to re-apply for 2 years to enable unsuccessful charities the opportunity to re-apply.

Support for local charities is not just financial, WR has a lot of experience in fund raising and where necessary are happy to help charities needing manpower and/or advice.
