Unfortunately Father Christmas was without his sleigh, which could not be used this year because so few reindeer were available to tow it at the end of 2024. But Rotary club members were not daunted and offered their cars instead to ensure the essential transport, music and decoration. The other big change this time was that volunteers, including those from several of the local charities that the club supports, helped with the collection while Father Christmas walked the pavements greeting the eager children.
We are so grateful to Homelink, Whitton Network, SPEAR, Woodcraft Folk, SEEN, Samaritans, Crosslight Advice, Park Lane Stables, The Mulberry Centre and Richmond EAL Friendship Group who all provided volunteers and we are delighted that they will all receive donations early in the new year, in proportion to the essential help they gave us.
The Rotary club of Twickenham upon Thames is devoted to helping communities both locally and abroad and we hope you will find some of those highlighted on this site, under the ‘What we Do’ tab, a source of hope and inspiration. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
