PITCH4POUNDS - BANNISTER BROOK HOUSE

Provision of a bingo machine, dabbers and bingo tickets to encourage greater social interaction between residents of this supported living accommodation.

Bannister Brook House provides supported living accommodation for people with varying additional needs and enables them to live as independently as possible.  Since COVID, many of the residents, whose ages range from 55 to 95, have been afraid to leave their apartments and have become socially isolated even within their own small community.

Tracy, one of the residents, has been endeavouring to encourage greater social interaction and approached Leyland Rotary for help in purchasing a bingo machine as this was the one activity most of the residents said they enjoyed and would participate in.

When presented with the bingo machine, along with dabbers and tickets, Tracy said:
“I’d just like to thank the Rotary Club of Leyland for donating the bingo machine and coming to meet us all.  You don’t realise what this will mean - it will change these people’s lives.  I’d just like to say a massive thank you for listening to my pitch and for making the decision to help the residents of Bannister Brook House.  I will take pictures of our bingo sessions and keep you updated.”
