This is the third in a series of Webinars which Rotarians in Scotland and the Asia-Pacific areas are providing to further the understanding of this worldwide pandemic by looking at the approaches taken by medical professionals, public health experts and authorities in Hong Kong and Scotland.

Karen Duffy is the Delivery Director for the Flu and Covid-19 Vaccine Programme for Scotland. Karen has worked in NHS Scotland for 35 years in a range of roles – working clinically as a nurse, midwife and health visitor and then working in primary care management and public health. In recent years she has worked mainly in the field of strategic planning and leading national systems.

Karen joined the Covid-19 Vaccine team at the go live of vaccinations in Scotland in early December 2020, initially as the Deputy Director – operational and now as Delivery Director. Karen has overseen the delivery of over 8 million covid-19 vaccinations as part of the primary vaccination of Scottish citizens, and is now leading the Winter Flu and Covid-19 booster programme, alongside vaccination for young people 12-17 years and 3rd doses for those with severe immunosuppression.

The webinar is for medics, academics and the public alike.
