From Taiwan to Spain via Latvia, Chile, Nigeria, Russia and China with several stops in Germany and South Africa: this was the "journey" recently experienced by Rotarians at the Rotary Club of Oswestry's annual International Students' Evening at The Walls.
Thirteen students representing five local secondary schools presented their experiences of moving to or from the British education system, highlighting differences in teaching methods and curriculum as well as how they coped with new sporting traditions, cultural and culinary changes as well as the UK weather. Although a few of the students had English as their mother tongue, most were presenting in a second, or even third language, but as Club President, Viv Jones said: "These young people are a great credit to their schools
