Romanian Foyer Trust

Wed, Feb 8th 2006 at 12:00 am - 2:00 am

Mrs Karen Fairfax-Cholmeley gave a talk about the Romanian Foyer Trust (web page: http://www.romanianfoyertrust.org.uk/) at the Spread Eagle Hotel on the 8 February 2006. The Trust exists to provide for the relief of young persons in Romania, who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress or who are victims of racial discrimination. The charity aims to achieve this in particular by the provision of accommodation and the advancement of education of the young people by the provision of access, training and guidance and support for employment, with a view to improving their quality of life.

More specifically, the Foyer concept is to provide for the needs of those young people leaving orphanages ill-equipped to find skilled work and to improve their own conditions, and those of their own children for the future.

The club stewards for this meeting were Graham Colverson and Ross Dike.

Host of the meeting: Marius Ciortan
