Stephanie Ford sponsorship for Peru trip

On January 5th Stephanie gave a talk about her trip to plant Hurango trees in Peru.

Last year we donated some money to Army Cadet Stephanie for her trip to Peru to plant huarango trees, with the support of " Plant your future" and Kew gardens where the seedlings were raised. These trees establish themselvesin 3 years and have 80 metre roots which absorb water and create a microenvironment for other plants to grow. This in turn allows local villagers to change their lives in any ways. You can find out more at http://www.kew.org/science/tropamerica/peru/index.html   Steph gave us an inspiring account of her 2 week travel in one of the driest parts of Peru where the haurango forests had been decimated and of the 2000 trees she helped to plant. A life changing experience for her and an excellent example of how volunteering can have many benefits.....
