Joint Guest of Honour, with Claire Richardson, of the Fenland Music Centre,

Prior to his introduction, President John Lattimore, called upon Pres.
Elect, John Orbell to give a resume on the Clubs visit to Berlin over the
previous weekend, in conjunction with the twin club in Halle.

John said the all in all, it had been a very successful, with only a very
few minor 'hitches'. Visits to the Bundestag, the German Parliament, with a
Guided tour by give by the local M.P. a coach tour of Berlin, visit to a
Variety Show, and River Trip.

The Halle Rotarians are keen for the 'twinning' to continue, with next year,
their journey to March. Tentatively planned for the same week end.

District Governor, Rodney Howell then addressed the meeting.

Speaking with authority and some light humour, he explained he oversees 78
other Clubs in District 1080.

RYLA was one topic he touched upon telling there was a firm commitment for
this to 'go ahead'. Wisbech in conjunction with March are sponsoring a
candidate.

A "G.E.S team" from the USA are expected in October. In the past their
visits have been to the major cities, Ipswich, Norwich, Cambridge etc. It is
the intention this time for ' grass roots' clubs such as ours, to enjoy the
company of the 'guests' from abroad.

Question time, received input on a wide range of topics, some expressed
'forcefully'. Subjects included ; Paul Harris Fellowships. R.I.B.I official
visiting us, lists of suitable 'Guest Speakers' and boosting Membership by
the admission of Females.

After this vociferous period, all ended in 'Rotary and Peace the World Over'.
