Health & Safety

It is important that Rotarians plan and provide service to the community in such a manner that the reputation and interests of Rotary or of individual Rotarians cannot be brought into question.

Rotary International is aware of the essential need to plan and organise all Rotary activities and events in a safe manner. We are committed to ensuring that all reasonable steps are taken to safeguard the participants, members of the public, volunteers, Rotarians and anyone who may be in the vicinity of a Rotary event or activity from risk of injury or ill health resulting directly or indirectly from that activity or event.

As the primary service organisation in Great Britain and Ireland, and one that has care as a core value, Rotary should set an example in both the above areas. It is easy to say that professionalism and good common sense will carry us through but we must do better than that, morally and legally.
