Young Musician District Final - Jan 2012

Twelve young singers and musicians travelled from all over the West of Scotland to participate in this year's District Young Musician Final held at Pollokshaws Burgh Hall in Glasgow on Sunday 15^th January.    A variety of instruments were on show with the youngsters playing everything from the Marimba through to the Double Bass. It was an afternoon full of winners.  

Their performances gave the judges a most difficult task but in a very closely fought contest Caitlin Turner sponsored by Garnock Valley Rotary won the Vocal section and Kieran Young sponsored by Gourock Rotary won the Instrumental section.  Both will now go forward to the Scottish final next month and the winner there qualifies for the UK Final on 13^th April.
