Rainwater harvesting

Sand dams are the most cost effective form of rainwater harvesting, the dams hold between two and ten million litres of water and can cost as little as $10 per person for a local water supply for life.

The first dam to be built by our district in support of the Mutethya self help group in Southern Kenya will be completed this month well before the next rainy season, with the help of Excellent Developments the construction programme has run like clockwork and is ahead of schedule.  Within just a few months this group will have a constant and reliable supply of potable water. The photo above show the dam at Mutheya, Southern Kenya, nearing completion.
