Rotary Club Pays Tribute to the late Jim Kendall - Friday 25th May 2012

Jim Kendall was a much loved member of the Rotary Club of Oswestry from 1967 to the time of his death early this year. The Club remembers him by furnishing a room at The Derwen College in his memory.


Jim Kendall was a much loved member of the Rotary Club of Oswestry from 1967 to the time of his death early this year.  Jim served the community professionally as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon and in a long association with Derwen College. As a Rotarian, he was awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship, the highest Rotary award for outstanding service. His kindness and great sense of humour were a wonderful inspiration to all who knew him. The Rotary Club of Oswestry decided that it would be a fitting tribute to fund the furnishing of one of the rooms in the new block at Derwen College in his memory.

The room the Club is furnishing is one of ten in the new building which has been completed very recently with a view to being completely occupied by students in the forthcoming Autumn Term. Rotary President Mike Jones said:
