Raffle tickets sold at Rotary tent on Old Course and at Morrisons raised over £5000

The star prize, a quality set of Golf Clubs and Bag donated by Auchterlonies of St Andrews, was won by Kate King from Tayport.  Kate bought two tickets dreaming of a meal at the Vineleaf.  Told by a Rotarian that was very special, she had an after thought and bought another book of tickets.  One of these won the golf clubs, so she is resigned to missing a meal out and will give the clubs to her husband who always wanted to play golf but never got round to buying clubs.  Although she hates having her photo taken, Kate was photographed receiving the Clubs then rushed across the 18th fairway to see her daughter playing in the Madras College Pipe Band.

The Dunhill Prize Draw enables the Rotary Club of St Andrews to raise a significant amount of money which is used to support good causes in the town, nationally and abroad.

A Rotary spokesman expressed the club's gratitude to those who provide the ticket sales venues. For more than a decade, IMG has provided a tent adjacent to the first fairway and, by making their foyer available, Morrisons continues to make a major contribution.
