Councillor Peter Main, The Lord Mayor of Bristol

BORN:  29 April 1950, Kent (in what is now South East London)

EDUCATED:  Born, brought up and educated in what is now South East London, one of five children

BACKGROUND:  Took out a Civil partnership with Gordon in 2007 and they lived in St George until 2009 when Gordon sadly died, and now lives in Brislington village

OCCUPATION:  Retired Local Government Officer at Bath and North East Somerset Council

MEMBERSHIP OF CITY COUNCIL:  First elected May 1997, Brislington West Ward

MEMBERSHIP OF COUNCIL COMMITTEES:  Previously served on Licensing Policy Review Board (Chair), Public Rights of Way, Housing, Social Services, Community Cohesion, Health and Social Care

MEMBERSHIP OF OUTSIDE BODIES:  Trustee of Arnos Vale Cemetery Trust, Governor of West Town Lane Academy, Governor of Brislington Enterprise College and member of Brislington Community Partnership

BACKGROUND:  Interests: Travelling, dining out (particularly trying new foods and new places), chocolate, 1970s popular music (especially the music of ABBA)
