Rotarian Stephen Jones donated 6 fresh eggs from his mate's chicken farm for auction at the Club's meeting of 22nd August. Allegedly he had a red-hot tip on a horse (Sanibel 3.20 Gt. Yarmouth on 26th) and offered to put the proceeds of the raffle on the horse to win. Winnings would go to the Club's Charity account. In the event it came 4th!
Rotarian Richard Ward asked whether any eggs were fertile as one of his chickens was broody and was assured that the white egg, pictured being held by Stephen, was likely to be.
And thus it was that Rotary chicken, (Sanibel II) was hatched on 11th September, carefully nurtured by Sparkle Ward
Time will tell what the future holds for Sanibel!
