Doreen started writing poetry 14 years ago and gave her first recital to a local WI she was then accepted on to the WI speaker list and from then on hasn't looked back.

Doreen, who was accompanied by her husband Clive, was introduced to the Club by Rtn Bruce Wood and thanked by Rtn  John Lattimore for a thoroughly entertaining evening

Also attending the meeting as a guest was Mercedes Ola and her mother Valerie. Mercedes is being sponsored by the Club to take part in the Rotary International Youth Exchange scheme which enables girls and boys between the ages of 15 and 25 to visit other counties, world wide, for maybe up to a year. Under the Scheme Mercedes departs for Paris in early July and was presented with a "goodie" bag by Rtn. Mike Enderby.
