Money from milk bottle tops

The Club is among a number of groups in the town raising money from old milk bottle tops. The green tops cannot be recycled through the Council's recycling scheme but can be processed for money!

Tops are collected by Club members from local schools and other locations as well as donations from Rotary and Inner Wheel Clubs across the District. They are then sorted and backed before being taken to a recycling plant at Charlesfield near St Boswells. A tonne is a lot of bottle tops but raises
