Festive celebrations

Nigh on a 100 members and Guests sat down to a five course meal upon the evening of Monday 17th December at The Conservative Club, March. This was the final social event of the year, giving those present a chance to recall past events, and speculate upon the future program.

The President, Ross Davies, accompanied by his Lady, Janet, gave a brief but sincere welcome, prior to Grace being said by Chis Bishop. By now balloons were whizzing, and crackers snapping, as the soup was served.

The next ninety minutes were devoted to doing justice to the festive fare. As the last mince pie was munched, Chris Bishop then gave an entertaining, but no the less relevant Christmas Message.

Now it was time to loosen belts, sit back, and enjoy the Cabaret. Comedian Phil Lowen, performed in a style entirely in keeping with the audience, Professional, quiet, very funny and visual, with a good singing voice, a show that would entertain grand children to grand parents. Many a rib was ticked just by twisting the obvious.

The President then proposed the Final Toast, and with Christmas Carols ringing in their ears, the audience slowly departed feeling at last the Christmas Festival has begun. M.C. for the evening was Paul Garner.
