GSE Turkey

Traditionally the incoming team are moved around the District, staying with a club, and accommodated with club members, for three or four days at a time. The club arranges both vocational visits, hopefully bearing in mind the professions and desires of each member. Time for some relaxation, sport and mingling with members is good, and each club should expect a presentation from the team, to which members of adjacent clubs might be invited.

The team was led by Dr Mahmut Akin, Assistant Governor of District 2440 and a member of Nilufer-Bursa Rotary Club.   He is 57 years old and works in his own consultancy firm advising the chemical industry.  He is hoping for vocational visits related to the chemical, wood based panel, glass wool and iron and steel industries.  He is a keen dancer and football fan.

Team member Begum Tinaz is a 26 year old from Izmir who works as an export manager in the packaging industry in a company supplying aerosol cans to the UK.   She would like to visit companies in this sector and also more broadly the marketing and foreign trade departments of multinational companies.  She is keen to visit Rotaract Clubs in District 1200.  Begum does not like cats so needs cat free accommodation.

Team member Hilal Isleroglu is 31 years old and is working and conducting research for her doctorate in food engineering at Ege University.  Her doctorate will be in modelling of simultaneous heat and mass transfer in the cooking of beef in a steam assisted hybrid oven.  She would like vocational visits to universities and the food industry.  She is keen on outdoor activities and travel.

Cagil Camci is 25 and works as a quality engineer in Izmir, where her job involves following quality processes and quality records in Elsis Enerji Company.  This team member would like to broaden her experience of other cultures and develop her self confidence.  She is following a training course in psychodrama and she enjoys movies, reading, outdoor activities and travel.

Team member Yildirim Hacioglu is a 28 year old lawyer who lives in Bursa.  He is Vice President of the Bademli Rotaract Club.   He has worked as an intern in four different law firms.  He would like to learn about English law and gain as much exposure as possible to the legal system here and to the workings of local government.   He is keen on football and also hopes to see some heritage sites and landmark buildings during his visit
