GETTING INTO THE SPIRIT!

Last Monday the 11th November the Rotary Club of March were given a talk by Anthony Winterbourne from the English Spirit Distillery based in the village Dullingham in Cambridgeshire, a few miles from Newmarket.

Rtn. Paul Garner introduced Anthony to the Club.

English Spirit Distillery started production in a former Council depot in January 2012 and since then has gained some eminent customers for their products including HM the Queen and Fortnum & Masons. Their products can be purchased at Worzels near Wisbech

They have at the present time the smallest distillery in the UK and pride themselves on producing some of the finest spirits that are made anywhere.

Using copper pot stills they make a wide variety of spirits, including vodka, infused vodkas, gin, rum, eau de vie, apple brandy and recently started producing whiskey. They are in fact the only distillery producing rum in the UK.

During the course of his talk Anthony supplied taste samples of their various products to Club Members.

Following many questions about the cost of the products and how they could be obtained Rtn. Mike Enderby thanked Anthony for a most interesting insight into spirit production and for the most enjoyable tastings provided and wished the company all the best for the future
