The Young Chef competition aims to encourage young people to develop their cookery and food presentation, and prove their organizational and planning skills, while challenging their ability to cope in demanding situations.
A detailed report follows from Club Past President Trevor Stansfield who organised the event:
"On Wednesday 27 November 2013 I was in Billericay School supervising the Young Chef Competition and in a period of time in which I had the opportunity to stand back and watch the contestants preparing their meal, my mind wandered back to my school days. What a contrast. Here eight young girls were preparing a meal for two, at a cost of
back Rotary's programs for students and youth can change the lives of those who participate by earning scholarships, travelling on cultural exchanges, or helping a community.
