CLUB INDUCTS FIRST FEMALE MEMBER

History was made on Monday the 14th April when Karen Coppin was inducted by Senior Vice President Godfrey Smith as the first female member of the Rotary Club of March.

Karen, who is a Chiropodist, was sponsored by Rtn. Bruce Wood. She has been connected to the Club for many years as her late father Derek Coppin was a member of the Club and President in 1982/83.

Following the induction of Karen the Club had as its guest speaker Rtn. Nick Corke the incoming District Governor for 2014/15. Nick, who is a member of Framlingham Rotary Club, outlined his vision of what Rotary will achieve during his year in office and the new initiatives that are being introduced to make the organization more effective.

Following a variety of questions Rtn. John Lattimore thanked Nick for his thought provoking presentation.
