New Generations Committee Report for AGM - 22 April 2014

District members please log in for more information.

Despite our best efforts, this has been a frustrating year for our Committee.

We have tried to maintain our recent excellent links with Woodmill High School, but have failed to gain support for an Interact Club, Young Citizens Award, Euroscola Candidate, RYLA camp or Young Writer Competition with the school.

We are however sending a candidate to the boys RYLA camp in July, Mitchell Hamilton, who was a reserve for the Leven club, and he will come to give us a talk after attending the camp.

We ran a successful heat of the Primary Schools Quiz, with Crossford Primary School emerging as the winner from the 8 participating schools, and I am attending the Zone final at Auchmuty High School this evening in support of Crossford.

We have also given a donation to a 17 year old schoolgirl from Falkland, Rosie Baird, who will be working in Southern India for the Project Trust organisation starting in September and she will come and give us a talk upon her return.

Robert Haig is working on a Mock Interview Project for potential school leavers and we hope to go live with this next Rotary year.

Finally, Alan Farquharson continues to represent our club in the Association of Fife Clubs in supporting Fife Young Carers.

Many thanks to all members who have assisted with our work this year.
