An Indian meal to raise funds for Darjeeling Childrens Trust

Pontefract Rotary is organising an Indian Meal on 21st July 2015 at the Thaal Restaurant, Great North Road, Brotherton WF11 9EE (formerly "The Brotherton Fox") to raise funds for the Darjeeling Children"™s Trust (DCT).

Orphanage under construction

The Trust is involved in many projects to support children in Darjeeling, just one of which is to rebuild an orphanage run by the Kripasaran Buddhist Mission. Rebuilding of the boy’s dormitory is now completed, but funds are still needed for the girls dormitory and ancillary buildings.

Our Club are proud to be associated with the DCT and with one of their Trustees Hugh Heron, who is now an honorary member of our club. Hugh has given talks about the DCT to several organisations and if you have not already benefited from this, you may care to inform your speaker finder of his availability.

We have been given a matching grant from District to support one of the orphans to train as a nurse which would otherwise be impossible. This superb value meal (heavily subsidised by the restaurant) will raise money to help that young person with this life changing experience.

I am attaching a pdf and we would be grateful if you could share this with your club. Click on   Indian Meal for full details and how to book

We would love to see you there for fellowship, for the chance to hear about an exciting project and for an excellent value meal.
The attached picture shows building work at the orphanage.
