Ross Davies presented 20Twenty with a donation of £200 to enter a national theatre competition.

20Twenty Productions CIC Youth Theatre were honoured the other day, when Rotary Chair of Youth and Vocation, and former headteacher of Thomas Eaton primary school, Ross Davies presented them with a donation of £200 to enter a national theatre competition. Members of Boundless Youth Theatre, part of 20Twenty Productions CIC will be entering the National Theatre Connections festival this spring, which, if successful, could see them performing at the National Theatre in London. The group are doing many fundraising events to raise money to be able to enter this competition, including sponsored sporting events, and a bake sale. When the Rotary Club of March heard what the group were doing, they very kindly donated £200 towards the fee for the competition.

The National Theatre Connections Festival is a drama festival for youth theatres with members aged between 13 and 19 years old. 20Twenty Youth Theatre will get to perform a brand new drama piece in March, and then have the opportunity to perform the show at a leading regional theatre. Following these two stages, if the group is successful in the competition, they would then get to perform at the National Theatre in London – which would be an amazing experience for them. As part of the festival, the group and the directors will get to participate in workshops, will have support from a National Theatre director, and a chance to work with the playwright. Geri Crooke, one of the directors of the 20Twenty Connections group says: ‘We are all very excited to get started on the fantastic project. All the young people have come up with some interesting and fun ways to fundraise, and we are extremely grateful to the Rotary Club of March for donating such a generous amount of money to the project.’
