Penrith Rotary Charity Golf Day
Penrith Rotary Club's Charity Golf Day at Penrith Golf Club on 7th August raised £3,250. 31 teams of four took part in good golfing weather. The players were very impressed by the great condition in which the course was presented and appreciated the work done by the green keeper and his staff.
Kerr Investments were the winners of the main event and Appleby Rotary Club won the Barclays Bank Trophy. Main Sponsorships were received from Scottish Fuels, David Hayton ltd, Braithwaites Garage and Center Parcs and in all there were 36 different firms sponsoring or providing prizes.
The money raised will enable the local Rotary Club to maintain its youth and community work in Penrith, but in 2016 it is hoped more teams will take part and a bigger and better sum raised. The event will be on Friday 5th August at Penrith Golf Club and those not already on the invitation list should apply to David L Brown, Hesleyside, Watermillock, Penrith CA11 0JH.Invitations are due to be sent out in early January.
