Every year, the Club sets up a stall in central Leeds and invites passers-by to have their blood pressure checked by a nurse. This initiative saves lives by referring people, with abnormally high pressures, to either A&E or their GP.
To commemorate a centenary of service to local and international communities, the Rotary Club of Leeds is producing a 100th Anniversary Souvenir Brochure. 1000 copies will be distributed to the 79 Rotary Clubs across Yorkshire and Humberside. QUOTE FROM CANDLELIGHTERS
“We are delighted to have been chosen by the Rotary Club of Leeds as one of the charities they support in their Centenary Year. It is only through the continued support of our local community that Candlelighters is able to provide help to families living with cancer, right across Yorkshire. When you have a child diagnosed with cancer, it can be difficult to plan a much needed break. The funds raised from this event will enable Candlelighters to provide holidays for families where a child has had a cancer diagnosis.”
