The Rotary Club of Halifax at its recent dinner celebrating its 94th Annual Charter, was proud to present to Rotarian Ken Robertshaw one of Rotary International"™s top recognitions, passing to him an "˜RI Avenues of Service Citation"™.
Recognizing that the strength of Rotary is founded on the service carried out by its club members around the world, the citation is only awarded to those who have consistently demonstrated outstanding support of the five Avenues of Rotary Service, namely Club, Vocational, Community, International, and Youth.
Immediate PP Ian Firth stated that Ken, as a past president of the club, past district governor of District 1040, past club secretary, past RYLA Course Director, not to mention his significant fund raising by kayaking 2,350 miles down the Mississipi and near frostbite when dog sledging some 350 km above the Arctic Circle, was in his opinion very deserving of this recognition. A Rotarian through and through he stated!
The award was given to Ken by District Governor Hazel Hass who said she was honoured to pass to him the citation for his sterling support over twenty-three years of Rotary Membership’
