Get your Christmas season off to a fantastic start! Come along and support the Switch On of this year's Rotary Club of Oswestry 'Tree of Light' outside Sainsbury's store in Oswestry on Saturday November 19th.
Starting at 4.30pm, you can once again enjoy traditional carol singing to the warm accompaniment of The Porthywaen Silver Band to help get the crowd into the Christmas spirit before the tree lights are switched on by Oswestry's paralympian wheelchair basketball player Mark Fosbrook at 5.00pm.
Over recent years, the 'Tree of Light' has been a very successful event, raising thousands of pounds for local charities whilst allowing donors to make a donation in remembrance of loved ones or a special event. For a minimum amount of £5.00, using the donation form provided, donors can have a light illuminated on the tree, a commemorative card for their home and an entry in the Book of Remembrance at the store.
This year your generosity will support Hope House Hospice, the Midlands Air Ambulance, the Cricket Federation for People with Disabilities, the North Shropshire Special Olympics and other Rotary good causes.
Sponsor forms can be obtained from Paperwrite in Church Street and, after the Switch On, from Sainsbury's or downloaded from the link below here:
Or you can donate online at our BT Mydonate page
https://mydonate.bt.com/events/tol2016.
Last year, we were delighted to raise nearly £6,000 for our charities which was a valuable amount for them all. This year, it is hoped to do even better so your support is needed. Please fill in and return a donation form and donate any loose change you may have if you see a Rotarian with a collecting bucket around Sainsbury's over Christmas.
The Rotary Club of Oswestry is grateful for the support of all our sponsors who make this event possible.
