On the day, 700 cyclists covered 100 miles, 50 miles or 20 mile routes from Broughton Castle near Banbury around the scenic Cotswold countryside. For families with young children there was a short Family Fun route.
The President’s nominated charity was Katharine House Hospice and Rtn. Philip Brodey, presented their representative with the Club’s donation. Cheques were also presented to local organisations whose support was invaluable on the day:

Rotary Club of Banbury. - Refreshments and Bar, Broughton Castle.
The last four Sportives have raised over £42,000 for local charities.
Each year the Broughton Castle Trophy (donated by the Rt. Hon Martin Fiennes) is awarded to the best performing team with the Chop Chop Cycling Club being this year’s recipients.
Sunday 9th July 2017 will be the fifth cycling Sportive organised by the Rotary Club Banbury Cherwell with a new target of 1,000 cyclists.
