Woburn Sands and District Satellite Club

14 New Members inducted

Induction of members into Rotary International

Our meeting on 18th October was a very special event. 14 members of the Satellite Club were inducted as Rotarians and full members of Rotary International. The Satellite Club can now progress to becoming an independent Rotary Club in its own right.

The significance of the event was marked by the presence of Tony Quinn, RotaryInternational's Regional Co-Ordinator for Membership, who addressed themeeting.

The evening started with an excellent meal in The Swan Revived's restaurant, and
was followed by the induction of the new members. There were addresses by
Rotary Club of Newport Pagnell President Derek Barker, and Howard Winfield who
was the driving force behind the formation of the Satellite Club. Finally, Chris
Schimmel, President of the Woburn Sands and District Satellite Club, outlined
their objectives and programme to develop Fellowship and Service Above Self.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable evening.
