Fri, May 11th 2018 at 8:30 am - 8:00 pm

39 teams entered, and a great financial result was achieved - close to £6,000 raised for the Mayor's Charity (Cancer Research UK), Cornwall Blood Bikes, and the Club's Trust Fund.

39 teams of four entered, all generously contributing to a profit of £5,900.There was serious rain in the middle of the event, with most teams getting a wetting as the photographs show. Congratulations to them for sticking it out, and especial thanks to our starters, Rotary members David Hughes and Ed Hallett, for imitating the cast of "A Perfect Storm"!

Cheques for £1,500 each were presented at the end of the day to the Mayor of Truro, John Tamblyn, for his charity (Cancer Research UK), and to the Rotary Club's chosen charity Cornwall Blood Bikes. The balance will be held in the Rotary Club's Trust Fund for the time being.

Truro Motor Company Volvo were the main sponsor this year, with the Boscawen Volvo Trophy  being presented to the winning team The Piranos from Perranporth GC (David Crossley, Gerald Coker, Denzil Lobb, and Doug Trevethan) with a score of 87 Stableford points.

The tombola and Grand Draw this year raised the totals of £525 and £680 respectively, thanks to massive efforts by the sales team of ladies.. The winning numbers in the Grand Draw are here

The Club is most grateful not only to the principal sponsors but also to all the companies, other supporters, and Club members, who sponsored holes, donated prizes, sold raffle tickets, and generally helped to produce such an outstanding result.
