Mary Hignett Funds Visits by The Emergency Poet to 4 Oswestry Primary Schools

Tue, May 29th 2018 at 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

A successful application by the Wilfred Owen Festival to the Mary Hignett Bequest Fund has resulted in workshops being delivered to 4 local primary schools: Trefonen, Woodside, Bellan House and Whittington.

The monies allocated to the Wilfred Owen Festival from the Mary Hignett Bequest Fund have been allocated to provide the first four Poetry and Horrible Histories Workshops at Trefonen, Woodside, Bellan House and Whittington primary schools - the first four that replied to the Festival's offer and will be delivered in May and June this year.

These workshops will be delivered by Debora Alma, “The Emergency Poet”, whose work in schools is well known and regarded throughout the West Midlands and Mid Wales. The workshops which involve using an old ambulance as a base will produce poetry and art work that will be displayed and performed during the Wilfred Owen Festival in October and November this year.
