Youth Services - Other Opportunities
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards comprise, in our District, a four night residential course held in July in The Forest of Dean. The course aims to improve the leadership skills of up to 40 young people aged between 16 and 18.
Through a series of challenging, practical and theoretical exercises, the RYLA course provides opportunities to improve leadership and communication skills, and self-confidence.
Activities include a ropes course, canoeing, climbing, abseiling and orienteering. The programme is carefully structured so that exercises are backed by theory to develop leadership and team skills. A video made at a previous course is viewable via www.youtube.com/watch?v=yspMKMIx5cs
Contact your local Rotary Club if you are aged 16 – 18 and would like to be considered for a place in 2020. The course will start on Tuesday 21st July and end on Saturday 25th July.
If you are a Rotarian who would like to find out more about RYLA in District 1100, or how to get your club involved, please contact Andy Jarrett via 1100RYLA@gmail.com
