ShoeBox Appeal 2018

Delivery of boxes to Perth

Delivery of shoeboxes for the 2018 Rotary Christmas Shoebox Appeal in Perth on Thursday 22 November.

In response to this year’s Rotary Shoebox Christmas Appeal, a fantastic total of over 125 shoeboxes were filled and donated by members of the Rotary Club of Dundee, their families and friends.  This year the majority of the shoeboxes are destined for the Ukraine, where depending on how boxes are designated, will be distributed by local Rotarians or representatives of approved international charities to orphanages, children’s homes and schools, with domestic shoeboxes being given to families living in poverty.  Special thanks are due to the students and staff of Harris and Morgan Academies, who between them provided over 60 shoeboxes to the Appeal, helping to ‘Spread a Little Happiness’ over Christmas to those less fortunate than themselves.

Pictured are Rotary Club of Dundee International Committee Chair Dai John and Secretary Allen Smith delivering the shoeboxes to Spectraglass in Perth for onward transportation, together with boxes from other Rotary Clubs in District 1010.

Sincerest thanks again to all those who contributed to this year’s Appeal.
