Quiz and supper at the Baron

Fri, Feb 22nd 2019 at 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Tonight we enjoyed another of Rotarian Paul's challenging quizzes for charity

We have two of these quiz nights a year and as it is Rotary Day ( 114 years since Rotary was founded ) tomorrow ( Feb 23rd ) and we have been asked to "Fill our plates for Polio" we decided that money raised will go in part to the End Polio Now campaign. The evening itself was relaxed and enjoyable in the conservatory at the Baron, which made the atmosphere cosy. We were delighted to welcome friends and Friends of Rotary David and Sue, Martin and Christine, Ian and his first responders team, Carol and Martin, Colin and Anne, Ian and Theresa and Katherine. More guests than Rotarians tonight! The questions set by Paul were challenging but fair and the battle ended in the tie break question " When was the first Tesco store opened?" with Norman and his team being closest ( but still a long way off - do you know the answer without Google?) Thanks to everyone who supported this event, and the raffle, and we raised £114! Cheers to you all.....
