President Ian hands over the reins of office to Mark Liquorish our President for the Year 2019-20
LUNCH: Roast breast of chicken with potato rosti, wilted greens and a forestiere sauce.

Members of Oswestry Rotary Club witnessed the handover of the Club's Presidency from Ian Glenister to their new leader Mark Liquorish for the new Rotary Year 2019-20 at a recent meeting.

Mark joined Oswestry Rotary Club in 2013 but will be familiar to many as Chair of Governors at The Marches School where he has been a Governor for over 25 years.

Now retired, Mark previously worked as a Health Services Manager for the Shrewsbury and Telford National Health Service Trust where he managed a team of up to 50 staff and developed his skills in logistics management, budgetary control, people management and statistical analysis.

Mark is eager to share his knowledge and provide advice to young learners and, whilst a Rotarian, he has actively supported the Year 11 pupils who are considering entering the world of work during the annual Mock Interviews process organised through the Rotary Club.

Mark was also instrumental in setting up The Marches School Governors’ Awards, an annual ceremony which recognises and celebrates pupil achievements.

Reflecting on his own year in office, Ian went on to wish Mark the best of luck.

"This is a busy Club and I know that Mark will work hard to adapt and develop the Club to meet the challenges we face ahead of us" he said.  "However he also has his eye on the friendships that we enjoy together and I know he has plans in place for events during the year."
