The first Rotary Club of Market Bosworth Great Easter Egg Hunt was a cracking day out.

On a typical April Sunday morning in Market Bosworth Country Park you can always see people, dog walking, playing games, feeding the ducks… but last month was a bit special.

Youngsters from far and wide descended upon the arboretum to partake in the very first Rotary Great Easter Egg Hunt. Rotary marshals were there in force to ensure an abundance of mini eggs throughout the morning and as the pictures show, no-one was disappointed.

The fun began with a homemade Easter bonnet competition, with Abigail receiving the magnificent Kinder bouquet shown in the picture. It was quite an attraction, all agreed, and sure to encourage even more entrants in next year’s event. Isobel and Summer were runners up.

Heading up the hunt was Rotarian Darrell Gillett, who told us “We have a very proactive club, always looking for new ideas. Although fundraising is an important part of this - today I believe that we raised in the region of £200 for worthy causes but there’s actually much more to it than that. We are a part of the local community and serve that community in many ways, not always to raise money” adding “ you can see that the little ones had such an exciting morning. We were all winners!”
