Baldock Rotary Donation to Garden House Hospice Care

Baldock present a cheque to local hospice

Baldock Rotary Club were pleased to invite two members of the Garden House Hospice Care team to give a talk about the care centre to Rotary members at a recent lunch.  Anne Johnston and Lyndsay Abbot, ambassadors for GHHC, spoke about the extensive support services which are available at the centre and now extend to family and child support.

Their motto of ‘started, serviced and sustained by the community’ is very much in keeping with the values of Rotary and the support it offers to the community.

Baldock Rotary Club were delighted to make a presentation of £500 to GHHC and be able to contribute to sustaining the care centre which so effectively supports the local community.

Anne and Lyndsay were keen to point out that the respite care offered is not about ‘going there to die’, in fact far from it.  An extensive range of services and support are provided including ‘in patient’ care, home care, day services and family support.

GHHC need to raise over £3 million in total income every year so that they can run these support services and the hospice relies heavily on the support of volunteers to help run the care centre.
